Our Story
Four Generations. One Name. Since 1945.
It Started With Homes for Returning Servicemen
Norbert Markway came home from the Navy in 1945 after serving in the South Pacific during World War II, and started building homes for the men he served alongside. In 1949, he made it official and founded Markway Construction Company.
He never advertised. The business grew through referrals and reputation, and it earned the respect of clients and fellow builders alike. When asked about his competition, Norbert’s answer was simple: “We have none.”
In the 1970s, his sons Bert, Jeff, and Mick joined the company and spent the next four decades building on what he started. Today, the third and fourth generations carry it forward: Nathan and Matt Markway, and now Nathan’s son, Kyle.
Eighty years later, the standard hasn’t changed. Every home still carries our name, and we still build it like it matters. Because it does.
Matt Markway
Matt started as a carpenter after college and ran field operations for well over a decade before stepping into leadership. More than twenty years with the company, and he’s never stopped thinking like a builder.
Nathan Markway
Nathan joined the company as a carpenter right out of college and spent more than two decades leading work in the field before moving into leadership. Nearly thirty years in, he still knows every job site by feel.
Kyle Markway
Kyle is the fourth generation of Markways to join the family business, working alongside his father, Nathan, and carrying forward the standard Norbert set in 1945.
